Your role as a Quiz Master is extremely important during the tournament. You are the "Master of Ceremonies" for each match. You will read the questions to students, operate the buzzer system, operate the match timer, and provide rulings on play. A Quiz Master must be able to read well and speak clearly. They must also be able to take charge of the match and collaborate with the Judges so that play is conducted efficiently and fairly.
If you have been enlisted by your School Coordinator to serve as a Quiz Master, it is important that you have arranged your work and personal schedules to accommodate your attendance at the Monroe County Intermediate School District on the day(s) you are needed for the tournament. Without you, we cannot have a tournament.

Communication is vital in organizing Quiz Bowl. Email is our primary method of communication with Officials. If you don't get an occasional message from us, you may need to contact us to verify that we have your correct email address. Please feel free to write Chuck Estep at: chuck.estep@monroeisd.us and let us know who you are; which school you are working with; and what your email address and telephone number is so that we may check on your information. Additionally, it is helpful if you put the words "Quiz Bowl" in the subject line of your email message.
